Several of my paintings are inspired by communities in smaller towns in Wisconsin. The sense of closeness and familiarity was always a comfort. If assistance was needed there was always a “Good Samaritan”. People lived simply with backyard gardens, front yard flowerbeds, red barns with cats, the routine dog and country churches with cemeteries. It was the best 20 years of our lives.
